Select Chinese Feng Shui Color Choices
Chinese colors are more than mere splashes of paint. Each color has a meaning and that meaning is what determines the correct balance of color for a room. Popular Chinese Feng Shui bedroom colors are often referred to as "skin colors or flesh colors." This includes hues from pale cream to dark brown. The bedroom should be a place of relaxation, pleasure, and solace. The multiplicity of these natural colors should be able to satisfy any color palette.
Keep The Bedroom in Balance
Achieving balance in a Chinese theme bedroom must not only be done through color, but through the placement of objects. Feng Shui consultants suggest that the bed should always be placed where the door can be seen, but not directly in front of the door. The head of the bed needs to rest directly on a wall, not under a decorative beam, or in front of a window. Consultants believe that a bed in front of a window will allow chi to escape from the window, causing restless sleep.
Another important Feng Shui practice in a Chinese themed bedroom is to always decorate in pairs, avoid objects that are not circular or oval. Objects with hard corners are not recommended in a bedroom. Make sure when purchasing bedroom decoration elements that they are in communion with the "skin color" chosen for the wall. Bedding, and decorating objects may be purchased in various shades of pale green and blues, as long as they are not overly used in the room. The ideal colors for the Chinese themed bedroom are an equal amount of the fleshy skin colors to an equal amount of the pale greens, and blues. It is not recommended to over indulge in the pale colors, because doing so will disrupt the balance of the room.
Paintings are recommended in a Chinese themed bedroom, but with very specific guidelines. Water paintings should never be used, but other nature pictures are welcome. It is also suggested to only display pictures with groups of people. Remember, what ever pictures that are displayed must follow the color guidelines and reflect nature.
Avoid Energy Traps in the Bedroom
While the water element is key in many Feng Shui designs, it should not be used in the bedroom, because it can promote financial loss. Mirrors should also be left out of the bedroom. Misplaced mirrors can cause energy to bounce through out the room, magnify worries, as well as encourage infidelity in relationships.
The bedroom should only be used as a bedroom. In order to keep the proper balance in the room, clutter must be kept at a minimum and free of technological intrusions. This includes under the bed and the closet. Clutter, as well as technology can suck energy away from the room which will cause restlessness.
Creating a Chinese themed bedroom with the use of Feng Shui is thought to help improve sleep, improve romantic endeavors, and is assured to help the occupant feel more relaxed.
