A Few Reasons to Move to the Front Range - Colorado Springs, Colorado

Pikes Peak Area

Carmella Mae Dunkin
Living in the Colorado mountains is like living in paradise. Living in the Colorado mountains near Pikes Peak is even more awesome...

Imagine waking up in the morning, walking to your mailbox, and seeing these big beautiful 14,000 + foot mountains so close you can almost reach out and touch them! Now imagine these mountains covered in a white layer of fresh snow. It is a breath taking sight to say the least, and one that my husband, kids, and I can enjoy anytime we want.

Besides the beautiful mountain views, there are also lots of wildlife to be seen and enjoyed. Where we are living it is not unusual to see bear, cougar, fox, deer, elk, and all sorts of different birds. If you venture up Pikes Peak Highway, you can even see long horned sheep. Our family loves taking nature hikes through the woods where we live, and we are always finding all sorts of animal tracks and other traces of wildlife in the area. It's a lot of fun trying to track the prints, and follow the animal to where ever it went. We have tracked deer, fox, and bear. Fortunatly we have not found any bears! There is a young fox that comes to our fifth wheel on a regular basis. He is absolutely beautiful, and very friendly too. We do keep our distance, and do not let him get too close to any of us, but we are shocked at how he seems to want to come to us. You can see in the photo our two youngest children with the fox in the same photo. The fox just came up and tried to get close to the kids. My husband shot photos as the kids and I kept shooing the fox to keep him from getting any closer to the kids. We've seen the young fox a number of times now, and he is always very friendly.

Colorado's Front Range mountains have some of the cutest little birds. There is a little blueish bird that has the most beautiful chirps. There are lots of woodpeckers, crows, steller jays, magpie, and these cute little black and cream colored birds.

Besides all I have listed here about Colorado, it is the friendliest state I have ever been to. I've been to a lot of states, but not one had people as nice as the people you find in the mountains of Colorado. Big cities can be a bit much, but the many small towns are just awesome and full of some really kind people.

The Front Range mountains also offer a vast array of things to do too. From Cave of the Winds, Cliff Dwellings, Garden of the God's, The North Pole, Pikes Peak, and so much more.

If you are looking for a new home, or just a really nice vacation spot, you should consider the Colorado Front Range mountains as that new spot. The beauty here is breath taking!
