A Few Simple Ways to Improve Your Golf Swing

Rocky Hills
If you want to improve your golf game there are two simple tips that will decrease your score and increase your enjoyment. When watching the professionals play golf one of the things that they have that most average golfers do not have is good flexibility. They also are in better condition than most of the average players out there. Add flexibility with conditioning and practice and you too can have a winning game.

Flexibility is one of the great keys to better golf. Most people know that they should warm up before they start to play but you need to be flexible all the time. One of the best ways to become flexible is to practice yoga. You don't have to be a guru or anything like that but you should just practice yoga for 15 or 30 minutes a day. With combining yoga with your golf game you will find greater flexibility and a calmness that cannot help but improve your game.

Although it is very important that you have flexibility it is also important that you are in condition. One of the best ways to get into condition without paying for a gym membership is to find a book on dumbbell exercises and doing a few of them every day. It is also a good idea to add a few crunches and push ups into the mix. Then with that you should add at least a 30 minute walk/run/bicycle routine every day. This will give you a good foundation to hit the ball farther.

If you think about it how many pro golfers do you see with a belly hanging over their belt? Then ask yourself how many of your friends that golf really well have a big stomach? Most of the time you will notice your friends with the flatter stomachs are the better golfers.

Once you have built up your flexibility and strength you should also practice your golf swing as much as possible. You can do this in several ways. You can do something as simple as going out into the yard and practice hitting whiffle golf balls. Or you can practice your putting by hitting golf balls into a cup. One of the most important things to remember is that you don't get better if you don't practice.

So the keys to a better golf game is to be more flexible, to be in better shape and to practice. If you start now in no time you will see a lower score and you will feel better about yourself.
