A Few Ways to Get Quick Energy

I know. you're tired. It's been a long day at work. You've picked the kids up from the daycare, just found out you need new brakes, and on top of that, your husband wants his dinner. Or you're just like me, a single gal finding it hard to keep your own life together. But how do you get energy real fast, right now, and put the spunk back in your day? Here's how to do it:

Forget the six meals a day myth

I know. I know. You're trying to lose weight, so you've started eating six meals a day; six tiny meals so you won't get hungry and splurge later. Well, when it comes to what's making you tired, eating often is the number one culprit. That's because each time you eat, your body has to go through this whole digestion process. That means, blood is taken from your body and moved to your stomach area, and your digestive begins a process that is similar to a trash compactor. And hopefully, you didn't eat anything that doesn't agree your body. Then the digestion process becomes even more complex. All of that digestion, six times a day takes a lot of work, and your body gets sapped of all its energy.

Fortunately, there are ways to get around this culprit. Eat three meals per day. It may seem dated with all of the new-age advice that's out there, but this really works. A six-mea-a-day eater for years, one month, I started eating three meals a day and I never felt better in my life. And that's no exaggeration. So try it, and see what happens. You won't regret it.

Kick the bread and the sugar.

Carbohydrates put your body in a calming state that's similar to sleep. Also, often bread and sugars are just an addition of calories to your diet. That white bread's not adding much nutrition at all. And understand, I know bread is soft and gooey. It feels really good when it hits your mouth, but it's deadly when it comes to energy. So, want to be less tired? Put down the bread and kick the sugar.

Let yourself have caffeine, but in moderation

In moderation, caffeine can give you the extra boost you need to get through the workday after you've been up till three in the morning doing laundry. However, caffeine does bring you crashing down into a feeling of tiredness after the energy-high goes away. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend caffeine everyday. I'd only say have it maybe twice a week, when you're really dragging. If you don't need it, don't drink it. But don't make yourself a victim to being tired when you don't have to be. Just remember, everything in moderation.

Realize the unconscious energy takers.

Sometimes, the mind and emotions taketh by force. That means, your motions can control you without you knowing it. Bored at work? That's why you grabbed that doughnut. You weren't hungry. And it just made you more tired didn't it. Now it's good that you recognized boredom is what made you tired. But don't forget that the next day when you find some pizza's been left in the company lunchroom.

You're not hungry, but sometimes you don't realize that your biggest enemies are taking advantage of your emotions and the fact that when you figure that out, you acknowledge it, but soon forget what you learned.
