A Few Words About Romania

A Few Words About Romania
Neighborhood: Turda Gorges
Hi, everybody. Let me tell you something about my country, Romania. Romania is located in the southeast of Europe, on the 45 degrees North Parallel, in the northern part of the Balkanic peninsula, inside the Danube river basin opening on the Black Sea.

Well, let's get closer now to the place where I live, Transylvania. Transylvania is the Romanian province situated inside the Carpathian arch and it is the place where Dracula lived.Inside this province, there is a small town, called Turda. That's my city.

Now we reach my goal, to tell you about the unusual place which lies next to my town, a place called Turda Gorges, gorges cut by the river Hasdate in the jurasic limestones from the North of Trascau Mountains (Apuseni Mountains). The walls, 100 m high and strongly fragmented, give to this gorges a picturesque aspect. They are an important touristic objective.

The unicity of Turda Gorge is given by the Ungureasca Cave (Hungarian Cave) with it nice overhanged roots. This is the place where whether doesn't matter. A must. Other thing that needs to be mentioned is the state of roots from Peretele Urias: quite bad.

The bolts are many places quite old, but the roots are climbable. You will find here a lot of nice roots: Go-uri, Pripoane, Sansil.

Well, that's enough for today, I'll tell you more about it next time. Don't forget me...bye!

It's a beautiful country, I'm lucky to have been able to visit for so long. I particularly enjoyed visiting the Black Church.
