A Fictive Life of Sticks and Sand

Z.J. Ascensio
You're transparent.
You believe that the world can't see through you
That we eat from the palm of your hand

Your tounge tastes of lies
And before you realize
You'll capsize and never again stand

Your existance is fiction
In the clearest of diction
You don't hesitate to state what is not

But your tales do not follow
Your words are too hollow
Could you possibly think we forgot?

Still you stand right before us
And do nothing but bore us
While we smile politely and nod

We see through the tricks
Your poor house of sticks
Stands obvious behind a weak facade

How does it feel
To know you're not real
And to think you're surronded by the blind?

I assure you, we see you
Your lies do not free you
They've captured your life and they bind

Reality holds true
No matter what you do
Time will uncover it all

A mere castle in the sand
When the water hits the land
You'll see everything shatter and fall

And everyone knew it was coming

Everyone but you

I like this. I can it read as a slam poem, too. Nice.
