On March 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. the organization will present "Pugapalooza" at the Villages of Bear Creek Park (1951 Bear Creek Parkway) in Euless, TX where you can bring your pug and a lawn chair. Besides games, there will be hamburgers and hot dogs with all the fixins' and attendees may enjoy lunch including chips and a soda with a $5 donation. There will also be a silent auction with pug items and a contest for curliest tail, longest tongue, best kisser, and more.

For details, see dfwpugs.com.

"Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue is now the largest pug rescue in the nation," states their website. "We take in all pugs regardless of age or medical condition, and while this makes us unique among most rescue groups, our need is great."

At the same time the group has taken in several special needs pugs this month, their donations have slowed. DFW Pug Rescue relies solely on contributions from the public and proceeds from its fundraising efforts. They are also a 501©(3) organization and if your employer has a matching giving program, they would be able to help out as well.

Among items needed are heartworm medication, flea and tick preventive, exercise pens (XPens), harnesses (size medium) and leashes, animal crates/carriers, dog beds - medium or small, gasoline cards to help pay for transporting pugs to the vet, denim such as old blue jeans or denim by the yard/eight or ten ounce type, flannel fabric - any kind but to be used for the boys' belly bands, elastic - half-inch type, and velcro of two inches wide, any color, sew-on type, no sticky.

Volunteers are able to pick up donations.

Pugs like Sally who has recovered from heartworm treatment, hip and knee surgery, and is doing very well on her medication for her collapsing trachea will now be adopted through Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue.
