A Friday Night Out at the Art Gallery

As a South Suburbanite, I always wanted to find cool hangouts that were unique and affordable within my local area without having to drive 45 minutes to an hour to find entertainment and excitement. I am a music major and a lover of the arts. Through one of my art class, I discovered a place that has its on flavor and style. I have visited this place frequently and it is really cool especially for those who are interested in a fun and exciting adventure in the South Suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.

Union Street Gallery in Chicago Heights, IL has a variety of events and it's free! The gallery is an open art gallery where you can view it between gallery hours. This is a great social gathering for those who want to get to know a variety of fun and lively people from all social and ethic backgrounds. It is family oriented and is a good way for people of the arts to socialize and get to know other artist like themselves.

You can enjoy wine and cheese and other varieties of exquisite foods while you're enjoying the atmosphere and the beautiful artworks of the gallery on second Fridays.

Union Street Gallery also has sales events where you can buy selected artworks. There is an upcoming event with the theme is called "Halleluiah" on November 9 2007 and continues thru December 28, 2007 which is an exhibition and sales event for the holidays. On November 9, there will be an invitational art exhibit opening sales event from 6 pm thru 9 pm. On December 14, there will be another Invitational art exhibit sales event from 6 pm thru 9 pm. Finally on December 28 the "Halleluiah 2007" event closes.

Artists are usually there for you to interview and to ask questions. The artists are very amiable and enjoy talking about their artworks and how it inspires them. The majority of the artists are local artists who enjoy talking about their works.
