A Full Review of Lars & the Real Girl Movie

Lars (Ryan Gosling) has problems communicating with potential love interests of the opposite sex. His solution was a sex doll which he bought off the internet. It is quite acceptable for a grown man to possess such a doll. However, Lars took it a step further & treated his newly acquired doll as a real woman with whom he shares an intimate relationship. In fact, he talks to it, names it Bianca, creates imaginary profile for it & even brings his love doll with him to go shopping & to do other daily activities. His friends & family thinks his actions as strange & they finally tell him to get a grip with reality. Perhaps he found the love doll to be better than a real woman in every way. It is closer to the truth as Lars had avoided contact with the female gender all his life. Furthermore, Bianca is quite an attractive love doll & cost about $7000.

His brother thinks that Lars is insane! Lars Lindstrom (Ryan Gosling) is currently in a twisted relationship with a sex doll. For many people in the little country town, the sex doll is a new thing for them. As with new things, different people take them differently & there is no better example in the movie like how Lars's brother, Gus Lindstrom (Paul Schneider) perceives the presence of the doll. He thinks that there is more than meets the eye to Lars's ailment. Lars actually feels pain when people touch him. Lars's problem may just be psychological in the Lars & the Real Girl Movie. In his way, Lars's has Bianca to compensate for the lack of the female human touch in his life. The lady at Lars's office, Margo (Kelli Garner) who used to have a liking for Lars's no longer gives attention to him since he became so obsessed with his sex doll.

It affects him, making him upset & moody against Bianca, who, like a doll that she is, just soaks up the feeling of resentment without any reaction. Once Lars's has realized his true feelings for his admirer, he starts to perceive Bianca as truly dying. There is even a real 911 Ambulance & funeral for Bianca, the sex doll. Such extremes were realized for a mere sex doll. In my opinion, the ambulance is just too much to be had for Bianca the sex doll. I mean, there is probably a real dying person in need of an ambulance to go to the hospital. Still, Lars & the Real Girl is only a comedy movie. It is the only trait that I oppose of Lars's character. I know Lars is slow in the head somewhere & his way of seeing life is unique, very methodical, & even profusely efficient on occasions but there should be a limit to his alternative mind set. The situation makes me think that some parts of the movie, even though it is meant to be funny is not funny at all.

It is why I think that the ambulance part of the movie is just whacked. Nonetheless, Lars & The Real Girl movie will bring about a melancholic emotion from its viewers. It's one of the best community living movies I have ever seen! How about when artificial intelligence robots become as attractive as RealDolls? Have you seen the RealDolls? Sure they are sex toys but they look so realistic & probably feel as realistic too. Of coursem I know nothing about how they feel. Apart from the sex dolls sexual oriented functions, RealDolls can be the beginning of intimate relationships between humans & machines as narrated in the Lars & The Real Girl Movie. Gay marriages are more common place nowadays so why not man & machine (doll) marriages? Sounds interesting? Then you may like the book entitled Love and Sex with Robots: The Evolution of Human-Robot Relationships by David Levy.
