A Full Review of Resident Evil 2: Apocalypse Movie

There is a different movie making style that goes on in the Resident Evil 2: Apocalypse movie as it is directed by Alexander Witt. As with the previous Resident Evil movie, Paul W.S. Anderson wrote all the movies but only directed the first Resident Evil movie.

In the beginning of the 2004 sequel which also stars Milla Jovovich as the undisputed heroine of the Resident Evil movies, Alice, looks to be filmed like a low budget television series with cheesy holographic interface screens in the Umbrella Corporation vehicles.

The Resident Evil 2: Apocalypse movie film reminds me of watching a low budget reality show on TV & it is more evident in the beginning. It could be the camera quality & directing skills which make the sequel released in 2004 seem sub standard. Awkward angle close-up shots are too often used in the movie.

Oded Fehr is one of the heroes in the movie but his character is killed off in the Resident Evil 3: Extinction movie. There are a lot of point blank small arms shooting scenes in the movie to make sure the zombies stay dead. Also the movie showcases a team of Umbrella Corporation Elite Security Squad that specializes in exterminating zombies.

In an unexpected twist of treachery, the management of the Umbrella Corporation abandons many of their soldiers in the Raccoon City, exposing them to certain death by the zombies. Alice (Milla Jovovich) comes into the movie only once in a while during the beginning of the Resident Evil 2: Apocalypse movie presumably because she still fells sedated.

Soon enough, Alice conveniently stops by am arms store, clothes, & arms her self to the teeth after escaping the laboratory where she was imprisoned. The addition of more sexy ladies like Sienna Guillory & Sandrine Holt in the movie could be compensating for the quality of the movie itself & to make it appealing for male viewers.

Some members of the Umbrella Corporation Elite Unit team up with Alice (Milla Jovovich) to fight against the zombies & fast moving monsters which are presumably evolved versions of the zombies found in the church. There is no indication in the Resident Evil 2: Apocalypse movie of where the mutated zombies originated which is confounding to some viewers including myself.

Alice makes a grand entrance riding a motorcycle into the church through the rose window depicting an arch angel. How quaint. It is a good action scene as she immediately impresses the others with her super human fighting skills. The Resident Evil 2: Apocalypse movie starts to become ridiculous when zombies pop out of the graves in the graveyard near the church. Since when did the Umbrella Corporation made real zombies & placed them in the graves near the church?

The director may have casted the wrong type of zombies in the Resident Evil 2: Apocalypse movie. It must have been a mistake! At least it is good to know that Alice (Milla Jovovich) & her new found friends have a plenty of enemy on their tails. A zombified, super soldier & super ugly named Nemesis, armed with a Gattling mini gun, thousands of bullets & a rocket launcher hunts down the enemies of the Umbrella Corporation in Raccoon City.

Nemesis was actually Alice's (Milla Jovovich) husband before he was changed into the super horrific creature in the Resident Evil 2: Apocalypse movie. They realized who each other were in the ending & fell in love with each other all over again. I am just kidding. I could not resist exaggerating it. Nonetheless, It would be strange how they would go on as husband & wife could he have survived the helicopter crash.
