A Fun Christmas Ball Craft Activity!

Create Beautiful Glittery Christmas Balls This Holiday Season!

Want an easy Christmas ornament craft idea? This year, save some dough by creating your own glittery glass Christmas balls! These ornaments are very pretty and festive and extremely easy to make. Here are the items you will need for this activity and how to make them.

The basic materials you will need for this craft activity are clear glass Christmas balls, vials of dusty glitter in any color(s) of your choice, and ribbon. These items can be found at your local craft store such as Hobby Lobby or Michael's for very reasonable and cheap prices. You will need about a dozen balls and several yards of ribbon (tip: sparkly or iridescent ribbon will be best for this particular style ornament) and a pair of scissors. Once you have all of your materials in order, you are ready to create!

First, take the top off one of the glass balls. Pour about a thimble full of glitter into the ball and then swirl the ball around until the entire inside is completely covered in glitter. When the ball is toally iridescent, put the little top back on. Next, you are ready to add the ribbon. Cut about six inches of ribbon and tie it into a bow in the loop on top of the ball. Lastly, put the hook in the ball and it is ready to hang on your Christmas tree! Repeat all of these steps with each ball until you have a complete set.

I began making these glittery Christmas balls in the year 2000, and have made hundreds over the past decade, both for myself and as gifts for others. These ornaments are always a huge hit and when people ask me where I bought them, they are always impressed when I tell them that they are homemade. These make really fabulous gifts for co-workers and I have even had people ask for them as gifts! When hung on the tree, the Christmas lights will really make these glittery balls sparkle and dance with color, like a real Christmas fairyland. Make someone's holiday extra sparkly this year or create a shimmering Christmas wonderland on your own tree with these beautiful, cost efficient, and easy to make Christmas balls. Have a beautiful and happy holiday season!
