Record of Agarest War was released in North America on April 27th, 2010. This is a strategy based role playing game is a Japanese created RPG video game that is available for both the XBox 360 and the Play Station 3.

Developers of Record of Agarest War was the company Idea Factory, although this game was a joint effort of publishers originally being Red Entertainment and Compile Heart. However, in Europe Ghostlight published this game and was brought to us in North America by Aksys Games.

I personally loved this style of game based on the popular art form of Japanese Anime also known as Manga. This game's ESRB rating is T for Teen, due to it's language, gambling features and "crude humor".

This is a turn based role playing game as opposed to a real time RPG video game. In this RPG style game you follow a map and at each location you do one of the following actions:

-Engage in battle against bizarre creatures.

-Engage and complete a quest.

-Visit a town or village.

-Talk to someone and get information that is necessary.

During these battles you must engage, each character has a unique set of skills or moves. However if joined together through the correct placement you can combine your powers and complete combo attacks.

This game has a unique dating aspect to it known as Soul Breed. This is where you literally create/breed a female character to date. Sound pretty cool right? An extra character and a girlfriend, but don't forget you have to pursue a relationship with her.

The main plot in this RPG game follows a battle between good and evil. A very classic storyline with a twist. This time their fate is met with destruction of the world, known as Agarest. However, after the annihilation happens, the "Gods of Light" combined or unified the rotting bodies of the "Gods of Darkness", thus creating a new world. Now the souls of the dark side have reawakened and you must fight in this complicated battle of time.

The best part of this story? You can choose which side you want to be on. Whether you campaign with the light or the dark you must go through hundreds of battles to seal the fate of the World of Agarest.

Ready to play? You can purchase this game for $49.99 at local gaming retailers.
