A Gamer's Review of Shrek Forever After Video Game

This Shrek video game is perfect for children and pre-teens alike; just like the family orientated movies you can guarantee the whole family can enjoy this action packed, puzzle and adventure video game.

The ESRB rating on this game is E10+ which means it's for everyone but suggested for children of the ages 10 and over. You can purchase the Shrek Forever After video game on a wide variety of game consoles and platforms including the PC along with the PlayStation 3, XBox 360, Wii and even your Nintendo DS hand held console. Which means there is no excuse to pass this hot family favorite game by. Rumors floating around are even saying there will be a mobile phone edition of the game Shrek Forever After, but I have yet to see that one available to the general people.

The storyline of Shrek Forever After is based on the Shrek movie, The Final Chapter. For those of you who have seen it, you already know what's up. Here is the down low for the rest of you. Shrek finds himself in a bit of a slump looking back at the old days stating he misses, "feeling like a real ogre", being sick of being a kind family man ogre Shrek makes a wrong turn. In a stupid chance to regain what he is feeling like he is missing during his mid ogre life crisis he signs a deal with "the bad guy" known as Rumpelstiltskin. After signing this not so smart deal Shrek finds himself transported to a alternate version of reality in the setting of Shrek's home in Far Far Away.

This version of Far Far Away is not an ideal alternate reality to say the least and is not very ogre friendly. Shrek's deal has made Rumpelstiltskin king in the new reality and Rumpelstiltskin has made ogres a near thing of the past because they are now hunted down to be killed or

imprisoned. The worst part of the new alternate reality is that Shrek and his lovely princess ogre bride Fiona have never met!

Your object in the video game Shrek Forever After is to overturn the king Rumpelstiltskin, making life for ogres in Far Far Away a friendly co-existing home base and reuniting with Fiona to fix what he has done wrong to be with the love of his life once again.

Not to worry though, just because Shrek has never met Fiona yet, doesn't mean her popular character isn't an integral part of the video game. You will find all of your favorite Shrek movie characters in the Shrek video game Forever After including Shrek, Fiona, Puss In Boots and my all time favorite Shrek character Donkey.

The unique aspect of this video game warps you between the alternate reality and Shrek's world as you know and love it. You will find yourself solving puzzles throughout your adventure and battling enemies as well. The mix between mental and physical activities in this game are a finely tuned video game that is a perfect combination for both teaching your kids to practice math and problem solving while keeping them interested with active battles and fun, familiar characters.

It's not just fun for one member of the family though, this game really is meant for the whole family. It's multi-player mode allows up to 4 friends to engage and play together in the single player story campaign. This allows you to play all four of the favorite well known Shrek characters and can make it a great experience for everyone involved. The single player campaign isn't all that is available though, rock this game online for the full Shrek experience.

My suggestion for the video game Shrek Forever After? Purchase it for your child for his or her next birthday or holiday or even a sleepover. This is a great sleepover game as it can keep all 4 friends involved and busy without making a big mess in the house for mom or dad to clean up the next day.

This Activision game was released on May 18th, 2010 so good news, it's available to purchase and rent from your local game retailer and video stores. You can purchase Shrek Forever After for the reasonable price of $39.99 from GameFly.com by clicking here now.
