A Gardener's Delight

Mike Powers

Here in my garden on a bright summer's day,
Balloon flower blossoms, so vibrantly blue,
Peek up at me as they bask in the sun.

The dew now has vanished, purloined by the sun,
And balloon flowers bloom to greet the new day;
They show off their elegant petals of blue.

Lovely these flowering bells of deep blue;
These cobalt corollas now kissed by the sun
Are gardener's delights on a midsummer's day.

A new day, balloon flowers blue, and the sun...

    I left some beautiful balloon flowers in my garden in Ohio. Your pictures and praise are a lovely substitute!
