A New Generation of Beggars: Begging Online for Money

With the popularity and widespread use of the internet, many people have started begging for money online to get out of debt. There are sites that exist exclusively as a venue for begging, beggars publish their own sites, they ask for money on community sites and forums, and of course they place ads on Ebay as well.

In my lifetime, I have had my own set of financial worries. There have been times when I didn't have enough to eat, when my electricity was shut off for non-payment in the middle of winter and when I couldn't work for two months because I was so sick from chemo that I couldn't move. Through all this, begging is just something that I have never even considered doing.

It seems that online begging has become so commonplace. If you visit Ebay anytime, type in "please help" into the search box. Right now, there is one ad from a lady saying that she needs money to fight a church next door to her because they are making too much noise. In addition, their is an ad from someone in credit card debt that wants to buy a house and someone that needs money to go to a nascar race.

Not trying to insult anyone, but if someone is begging online that indicates that most likely they have a home and a computer. That fact alone makes me reluctant to send them my hard earned cash. Many beggars will tell stories of how they have found themselves in credit card debt and dream of some angel that will come save them from all of their worry. That is a nice dream, but strangers will probably not be interested in paying your bills.

What I don't understand is that these people begging for money obviously have internet access. They could easily take the time they spend begging on the internet, and use it to make money from other activities on the internet.

There is always work to be done online in webmaster forums, even for unskilled workers. I frequent Digital Point Forums. Webmasters always have ads up offering money for people willing to post on new forums and submit sites to various social book marking places. In my opinion, the best online money making opportunity is Associated Content. You can write articles for them on whatever interests you and get paid several times a week.

So, really there is no reason for all this online begging. I realize that we all get in some tough spots. Instead of waiting for someone to save us, we need to take responsibility for our own lives and find a way to earn what we need.
