A Ghoulish Halloween Wedding

Looking for something with a little more "spice" to make your wedding an event to remember? A popular trend is to celebrate your new commitment with Halloween theme! While the traditional wedding is still popular of course, many couples are looking to try something new. How about a Ghoulish wedding that'll knock your socks off?

Here are a few fun themes that might stimulate your imagination:

- Count Dracula

- A historical culture such as the ancient Egyptians

- Beetle Juice

- Pirates of the Caribbean

- The Adams Family

- Jack the Ripper

- A Disney Classic Movie

If none of those ideas suite your fancy, then why not just go with fall/Halloween colors such as orange, red, black, brown, and yellow? Have your guests dress up as their favorite characters. The flowers can range from roses, daisies, or even carnations depending on your budget.

During Halloween you can get as creative as you like without feeling out of place. If you choose a pirate theme for example, it can take place on a ship, beach, a wooded area, or even an old town. An Oasis would be perfect for an Egyptian theme, and a Victorian house for a Count Dracula theme.

The food just might be the most fun part of the wedding. You might consider "tombstone" cookies with each of the guests name on them and the date of death just so happens to be the wedding day! How spookily fun. You could throw floating eyes in the punch, and toss together some spooky entrees. Google Halloween recipes for some unique ideas.

Dimming the lights and lighting candles sets the mood for romance and fun for the evening. It also brings out warm colors which are indicative of the fall season. I would suggest getting creative and placing the candles in pumpkins or gourds for the full effect.

White table clothes are common at weddings but since you have decided to have your wedding on the spookiest and often the most fun night of the year why not be different and try using a fall color? If you have your mind set on having displaying table clothes then there are other ways to make it look more festive such as adding orange, red, yellow, black, brown, or gold confetti or glitter.

Fake or real autumn leaves are a great idea too. The centerpiece could consist of small gourds, pumpkins, corn, and wheat. If you would like a more elegant look then roses or carnations will look amazing and come in just about any color you can imagine.

The wedding favors should definitely reflect the theme you have going and match the table settings beautifully. If you choose to go with little baggies then try dropping in a trick and a treat for extra fun surprises and a memorable event!
