What is really nice about this gift basket is that the "basket" part is an important part of the gift. You will read more about that statement below.
Plastic Shoebox
A plastic shoebox will be the "basket" for this gift basket. All of the items included as part of this gift can be placed inside the shoebox and given to the gift recipient.
Afterwards, the gift recipient can place all of their clipped coupons in envelopes and neatly store them inside the plastic shoebox. See item #1 for an explanation about the envelopes.
Now, you need to decide on the contents of the gift basket. Some ideas include:
1. Envelopes
The perfect size envelope for storing coupons is the #10 envelope. They are usually called "business size" envelopes. They can be used to hold the coupons in the plastic shoebox. The recipient can also use the envelopes to send away for various rebates and promotional offers.
2. Scissors
You can purchase a pair of scissors in a variety of styles. For example, a pair of scissors with a cushioned handle would make clipping coupons less stressful on the hand of the gift recipient.
3. Coupon Holder
A coupon holder brought to the grocery store can hold coupons that need to be redeemed at the checkout after shopping.
4. Highlighter
A highlighter can come in handy to highlight items from grocery store circulars that need to be included on a grocery-shopping list.
5. Pen and Notepad
After the items have been highlighted in the grocery store circulars, the recipient can use the pen and notepad to write a shopping list. The pen can also be used to label the envelopes used to hold the coupons.
6. Paper Clips
Vinyl-coated paper clips can be used to help keep the coupons from falling out of the envelopes, as they are stored in the shoebox coupon holder. The paper clips can also be used to keep the coupons organized in the coupon holder that is brought to the grocery store.
The gift basket is relatively inexpensive to put together. After you have purchased all of the items to be included in the gift basket, simply place them inside the shoebox, put the cover on top of the shoebox and wrap the shoebox as you would any other gift.
Happy shopping!
