Supplies:
three poster boards
poster paint
stickers
construction paper
glitter
plain paper gift bags
paint brushes
camera
brag books
photo clips
I started out by drawing a huge letter "I" on one poster board, a huge heart on the next, and the letter "U" on the last. The poster board cost me $1 for a pack of eight from the Dollar Tree.
I had each child paint one red, for Valentine's Day. You could easily change the paint color to correspond to whatever occasion the gift is for!
Then I took each child outside and hand them stand against a plain brick wall holding their sign. I snapped each picture individually.
I also had the children decorate the gift bags. We had plain red ones, medium sized from Wal Mart. They're about eighty eight cents apiece. I put out bowls of red, pink, white and purple heart and letter foam stickers, glitter pens, glue sticks, and cut up pieces of red, pink, purple, and white construction paper.
Then all together they decorated a brag book. A brag book is one of those miniature photo albums. I found them at Wal Mart for about $1 a piece. I bought mine in solid pink and hand them glue things to it. You can get them in a wide variety of colors! And if you can't find solid colored brag books, simply go to the craft aisle and buy a sheet of foam in whatever color you need. Cut it to fit your album and glue in on!
I photoshopped the pictures so that the children and their signs were in color and the background was all black and white. If you can't do this yourself, and you don't have a family member who can post it as a question on yahoo!answers. There are tons of people out there who will do it quick and at no charge. Then I filled the brag book with cute pictures I'd taken of the kids over the past few months. I made sure their was a good mix of single and group shots, candid and posed pictures.
I put each child's picture in a photo clip. I found some with a silver heart base at Wal Mart for $1 a piece. You can also find the exact ones online! Photo clips are inexpensive and you can find them in all shapes and sorts to fit your needs.
Then I put each finished product into the corresponding bag, putting the brag book in the last bag.
The parents absolutely adored them! You could even do it yourself as a gift to your spouse! Using a self timer, take pictures of yourself holding the three different signs and set it up the same way. This is such a cute simple and CHEAP idea that you can use for any holiday. It makes a great gift for moms, dads, grandparents, teachers, and friends!
