A Girl and Her Bedroom Window

Paige33
At a window of a dim lit room,
Stood leaning out, a girl about eleven,
In her pajamas, holding her pillow.
Looking up the sky with twinkles in her eyes,
Reflection of the star lit sky.
Wondering with her mind,
Reaching with her soul.

One day she told herself,
She will be like the stars,
Shining brightly in the night sky.
Hugging her pillow closer to her,
The wind blew softly on her cheek.
I will be like the soft wind too,
She said to herself, smiling even wider.

A knock on her bedroom door,
Awakens her from all her thoughts.
Daddy came in to say good night,
It is time to slumber.
Tomorrow is another day.
What is going to happen she will not know,
All she know, all she waits for is,
Another night she gets to stand at her window again.
Perhaps I will decide to be something else tomorrow,
She whispered to herself as she closed her eyes.
