A Glimpse of Jesus Christ Suffering!

Isaiah tells us that "he bore our grief's and carried our sorrows; that he was wounded for our transgressions, and bruised for our iniquities; that the chastisement of our peace was laid upon him; that by his stripes we are healed" He redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us (Galatians 3:13). He was made a sin-offering, and He died in our place, on our account, that He might bring us near to God.

Jesus was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane , was mocked and beaten whipped, stricken, spat upon by the soldiers as they dressed Him in a purple robe and a crown of thorns through the night and hours proceeding His grueling trek to Calvary where nails were driven through His hands and feet, where the opened, bloody flesh of His back was placed against a wooden cross, where the people mocked Him and told Him to come down if He were the Son of God. After Jesus had hung on the cross for several hours, he forgave the soldiers who had crucified him (Luke 23:34; Luke 23:35) and voluntarily gave up his life (John 10:18), commending his spirit into his Father's hands.

Jesus died for us To show God's love for sinners, To show his own love for us, To bring us to God, To give eternal life to all who believe on Him, to Take Away Our Condemnation, To Free Us from the Slavery of Sin, To Give Marriage Its Deepest Meaning, To Free Us from Bondage to the Fear of Death and To Rescue Us from Final Judgment.
