"A Goblin's Delight": A Halloween Poem

ADSpencer
Old witches, they whisper into the night

As they hand out their sweets

To devils and angels begging for treats.

"Oh," hags crone and look down their noses,

Telling tales of goblins' delight

And how the results are oh, such a sight. . .

"Guts and gore are no goblins' delight

They wish you no ill,

Just to cause you a fright.

For screams upon screeches

And squirms in small breaches

Cause as much thrill

As hoots and howls

And a blood curdling squeal.

"As you walk home on Halloween night,

Skipping along with candy in tow

Remember, remember a goblin's delight

Is no vampire leaching

Or zombie arm reaching.

Goblins wish only a horrific show

With giggles and wiggles

As they make you a troll."
