A Good Year Move Review

Well, even though I have to admit I enjoyed the film "a good year" with Russell Crowe, I do understand why the movie received not so flattering reviews. First, there is really no character development, beside the central character, which is slowly transmitted through flashbacks. Everything is rush in the movie, it shows a character and automatic we should understand their meaning in the film. Also, the love interest in the movie was a beautiful lady whom I cannot remember her name. Then, the old premise of the cat and mouse game came into play. First, the woman whom has been through some rough patches in past relationships is basically damage goods. So the main character better put forth the effort and don't expect anything without hard work. Yeah right, personally I have seen hookers take longer to persuade than this female character. The Russell Crowe's character is a farce when it comes to his suave, ladies man, persona's.

On the other hand, this film bought out my memories of my personal trip to France. It was a wonderful experience and the people are so passionate about life. I could almost smell the countryside. For a moment I felt like an extra, sitting in a café with a bottle of homemade merlot and eating a loaf of fresh cooked bread. While listening, to the sounds of people chatting, children playing, birds are singing while scooters beeping by. France is a beautiful country and I advise anyone to trip to see the vineyards. We in the United States, cannot compare to the beauty of a sunrise in a valley of the French countryside. That was the beauty of this film.

If they only took a little more time to develop the characters. Plus the movie didn't even need the one character. For some reason, he was put in as a comic relief. But the story didn't need him at all. So, the question is "would I pay to go see it?' answer "NO". Just wait for it on DVD. It should have never been sent to the big screen.

I've not seen this film, but I do agree from personal experience that France is a lovely country.
