Often our life is filled with sorrow
As haste and strife hurry us on,
Preoccupied and plodding forward.
As haste and strife hurry us on,
Preoccupied and plodding forward.
As crisp notes of fall scent the air,
Grant me respite from selfish cares.
Open my eyes to an intimate feast
And round me find love, hope and peace.
So I pray for this Thanksgiving,
A grateful heart within me beat.
