A Great Date at Genghis Grill, Wichita Falls, Texas

While living in Wichita Falls, Texas for the last year I've discovered very few places that interest my taste buds enough to return. The Genghis Grill has an atmosphere that is slightly cold but comfortable for those who wish to chat among friends, without the annoyance of a lingering waiter. The food is what you create, which can be good or bad but is an experience worth the low price.

When entering the Genghis Grill you will find a staff that is young and happy to seat you. The best time to go is before three, for the cheaper prices and less crowds. The staff is used to writing separate tickets for those in groups or going dutch, which I appreciated both times I went. Once seated the waiter asks if you've been to the Grill before and if you haven't will take your drink order and give you a bowl. He will then proceed to the raw food bar and show you how to fill your bowl with meet, veggies, spices and other items. The staff is usually pretty busy, which I've found to be good and bad two different times I visited.

The first time we went for dinner with a big group and the bartender was so behind that it frustrated our waitress. The other guests I was with didn't like the drinks or the fact that they had to wait over thirty minutes for them. The waitress said that she wasn't allowed to make the drinks, so she wasn't in control of how fast they got to us. I found that her level of frustration fed off of ours as we were both being wronged by the bartender. I did enjoy the food though and my drink came before the rush, so I was able to enjoy it being timely.

The second time I was at the Genghis Grill in Wichita Falls, my daughter and I had a lunch date. It was nice to have a staff that allowed us to have time to chat, without running us off. We got endless bowls for lunch, which was a little over $10 each and chatted for two hours. Our total bill with tip was $30 dollars, which was great for all you can eat, healthy food and atmosphere.

It is nice to look at the food on the raw bar and be able to see exactly what you are getting. I loved the dragon spices and sauce, but wasn't to fond of the ginger that I used the second time. Once you build your bowl of meat and veggies, you are able to add difference rices, tortillas or noodles to it while it cooks. I tend to enjoy beef and loads of veggies with rice but many people like the seafood selection and making fajitas.

In all, the food is worth the price. It is a great place to go if one is dieting or only likes certain foods. The atmosphere is wonderful for socializing and taking an afternoon to do something a little different while on a date or with someone special. The Genghis Grill is great for those who want to schedule a lunch or dinner for a group of people with different tastes.
