A Great Way to Get Free Books!

Chava Burnham
I have a great site for you to check out, if you're a book addict like myself. I've been a member of Bookmooch for just over a year now, and I have "mooched" over 50 books! I've also given roughly the same amount.

In the Bookmooch database (which is linked to Amazon for easy searching), I have found rare and hard-t-find books as well as brand new, just released books. Certainly, the whole of Amazon is not available on Bookmooch, but there has been a nice selection to keep my children, my husband and myself busy.

Another great feature of Bookmooch is that it is worldwide. Seeing as how I don't reside in the USA, and am an English speaker and reader, English books can be difficult and costly to obtain. There are libraries in my country, but the English selections are usually minimal at best. Bookmooch solves that problem easily, although Bookmooch does not deal, by any means, exclusively with English books.

Joining Bookmooch is completely free. The only cost to you is shipping books. You have the choice to send books only to your own country, worldwide, or to operate on a book-by-book basis when it comes to shipping internationally. In my country, we happen to be blessed with pretty cheap postal rates. It's something I'm grateful for!

Bookmooch works on a point system. I have tried and failed to explain this verbally to friends; hopefully I'll do a better job here. It's really quite simple. List a book, receive .1 of a point. Mooching a book in your own country costs 1 point, mooching out of your country will cost you 2 points.

When you send a book within your country, you receive 1 point, sending internationally will win you 3 points. There are other ways to give and receive point that are explained on the Bookmooch site.
So here are fun way to deal with your book obsession. Be careful, though. It can easily become a Bookmooch obsession!
