For a green San Francisco Getaway activity head to the San Francisco Botanical Garden.
This amazing 55-acre botanical garden features over 8,000 plants from all of the world. The Botanical Garden is open daily from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m from April through October. Hours from November through March are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Free admission is offered on the second Tuesday of every month. Regular admission prices are $7 for adults, $5 for children 12 to 17 years of age, $2 for children 5 through 11. Children under 4 are free. A special family rate of $15 is available (two adults and one or more children).

Located in the Orchard Garden Hotel, Roots is a fresh, wholesome and healthy alternative to many of the resteraunts in San Francisco. Chef Jason Gaskins prepares meals with locally grown produce, sustainable seafood and naturally raised meats. Dinner entrees include Grilled Hanger Steak served with caramelized onions and baked potato; Dungeness Mac & Cheese made with fontina and white cheddar cheese. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
