Purchasing green clothing will give you the power to make a difference and with these easy tips, anyone can do it.

1. Have a Green Wardrobe by Buying Organic
Buying organic clothing for your wardrobe is not hard. Most of us who buy organic food read the labels to make sure that we are staying green. You can do the same with clothing. Many non-organic clothe comes from materials that have pesticides in them where they obviously damage the eco-systems. Finding organic clothing that will keep you green is easy. Start with online shopping, as there are many retailers who specialize in making your wardrobe organic. Many of the larger retail stores are now carrying organic clothing, just ask an associate for assistance.

2. Go with a Green Wardrobe by Buying Vintage Clothing
One of the fastest growing businesses are shops that cater to the vintage clothing industry. As most of us know, wardrobe go through cycles and what was once out of fashion is probably coming back. Vintage clothing gives us the opportunity to recycle and maybe add something not only green but also conversational to our wardrobes.

3. Learn to Buy Less and Still Have a Green Wardrobe
With a little fashion sense, you can make less of your wardrobe go further and end up with a green wardrobe. Learn the basics of accessories such as shoes, belts, and jewelry to spruce up that green wardrobe.

4. Save Your Green Wardrobe by Not Drying Your Clothing
More than 80 percent of the energy in the life cycle of your clothing is the time it is used by you. More than it was to manufacture the clothing in the first place. Washing and drying your clothing takes more energy than it did to manufacture. Learn to wash all your clothing in cold water and use biodegradable detergents. Instead of machine drying your clothes, consider going old fashioned and hang them on a line to dry instead.

5. Learn to Buy Classic Styles over Trendy to Green Your Wardrobe
Classic styles just never seem to go out of style and you will save money when you do not have to keep buying the newest trends in fashion every year. Good classic blue jeans will always be in style as opposed to trendy fashion jeans that change styles every year. The classics tend to be better made as well and will hold up throughout the years.
