Fair St. Louis

Arch Grounds

Fair St. Louis is touted as "America's Biggest Birthday Party." Formerly known as the Veiled Prophet Fair (VP Fair), the annual birthday bash on the Arch grounds attracts not thousands, but hundreds of thousands each year. As the 4th of July falls on a Monday this year, three full days of events are planned with the Fair kicking off from the corner of Fourth and Washington on Friday, July 2nd at 10:00 A. M. with the Veiled Prophet Parade. Fair festivities start at Noon on the 2nd and 11:00 A.M. on the 3rd and 4th. The spectacular fireworks display begins at 9:15 P.M. each evening of the Fair and closing time is set at 10:00 P.M. Free admission; food and beverage for purchase.

In between opening and closing times you will have plenty to see and do. A Kids Zone for fun activities for the whole family; air shows twice daily; local bands and big name entertainment (Steve Miller Band, Maroon 5, Montgomery Gentry); and of course icy cold beverages of all types to beat the St. Louis heat and good old American food and some International dishes, too.

Forest Park

Hampton and I-64

Pack the family and a picnic basket loaded with your favorite goodies into the car and head over to Forest Park early in the day. Enjoy a stroll through the world-renowned St. Louis Zoo featuring animals from all over the globe. Later in the day spread a blanket out on the lush green grass and enjoy an open-air lunch. Plenty of room for the kids to romp and frolic. Free admission.

St. Louis Cardinals Baseball

Busch Stadium

What better way to celebrate the 4th of July than eating hot dogs, drinking your favorite beverage and rooting for the home team at a major league baseball game. The St. Louis Cardinals will play host to the Cincinnati Reds at a 5:15 P.M. game. Tickets cost from $9.00 for Terrace level up to $255.00 for the premium seats. Actually there is not a bad seat in the house. Parking will be at a premium that day, so plan accordingly and think public transportation that day.

Fireworks Displays

Various venues

If you can not make the fireworks display at Fair St. Louis, you can probably find one near your neighborhood. Displays will light up the night skies all over the St. Louis area as St. Louis celebrates America's birthday.
