Eat Up!

Las Vegas is most famous for its gambling and cheap buffets. Unfortunately, every casino has their own buffet and the prices are no longer all that cheap. In today's Las Vegas, all you can eat sliced roast beef and the standard American cuisine just won't cut it anymore. There are many buffets that can compete with the best restaurants. We have here a list of 10 buffets that stand above the rest.

The Mirage buffet has long been one of Las Vegas' most popular buffets due to its superior quality. The Mirage buffet was also known as one of the most expensive in Las Vegas. However, with the advent of Wynn, Bellagio, and the Venetian, the Mirage buffet is no longer the pricest, but the quality remains. The Mirage buffet has been reinvented into "Craving's", a concept that fuses the buffet style with restaurant dining atmosphere. The made to order stations available here are the highlights of the buffet.

Wynn Las Vegas
Breakfast 8:00am - 10:30am M-F $17.95 +tax
Lunch 11:00am - 3:30pm M-F $21.95 +tax
Dinner 4:00pm - 10:00pm $33.95 +tax
Friday & Saturday Dinner 4:00pm - 10:30pm $37.95 +tax

Representative of a new trend in Las Vegas that was initiated by the Bellagio buffet. The Wynn takes "fine dining" buffet to a new level. The highlight of the Wynn buffet is the sushi and seafood. You can eat your money's worth simply by eating seafood. The atmosphere is classy and comfortable. The best time to eat at Wynn's is for the Lunch buffet. The dinner buffet is only slightly better for ten dollars more.

Rio Suites Hotel Village Seafood Buffet
Sun. - Thu. 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Fri. and Sat. 4:00 PM - 11:00 PM 702/252-7777
$38 per person

There was a time when Rio's World Carnival buffet rained supreme with its international selection. Since then, many have successfully imitated that formula and have surpassed Rio's buffet as the best of Las Vegas. However, Rio created Village Seafood Buffet to the delight of many. The high price tag is due to the completely nautical themed buffet. Oysters, scallops, snow crab legs, salmon, swordfish, and much more is available. And unlike many other "seafood buffets", even the ethnic food are created with ocean creatures. From seafood fajitas to squid chow fun, the Village is a seafood lover's paradise. The sushi here is also superb. Prime rib and other meat dishes are also available when patrons need a break from the seafood.

Speaking of the World Carnival's Buffet, this long time Las Vegas local favorite remains one of the best buffets in town. This buffet provides a wide variety of delcious items for visitors to choose from. The most unique is the hamburger and hotdog station uncommon to most buffets. A buffet that's great for the whole family no matter what age!

Paris Las Vegas

The buffet at the Paris Hotel/Casino is unique and visitors pay a high price for this. The buffet is organized into several cooking station with each station named after a region in France. The cuisine offered is heavily influence by French cooking and includes roast duck, steamed mussels, lamb stew, made to order crepes, and much more. The decor is quaint and resembles French architecture. The highlight of this buffet are the made to order crepes. Definitely worth a try!

Spice Market at Planet Hollywood Hotel/Casino

Dinner $24.99 (children 5-12 $15.50);
Brunch $20.99 (children 5-12 $12.50).

While I really do not like the decor of this buffet, the food is fantastic and ranks up there with Bellagio, Paris, and Wynn's expensive buffets. This buffet contains all the staples such as peeled shrimp, prime rib, and crab legs. What sets this buffet apart from the rest is the middle eastern station which features authentic middle eastern dishes like tandoori chicken, basmati rice, and much more!

The original high end buffet in Las Vegas. This buffet boasts some of the most delicious items and use only the best and freshest ingredients. While the decor and spacing is ordinary, the food is not. Several live cooking stations add flair to the dining experience. The seafood and sushi is the most enjoyable part of this buffet as the freshness of the ingredients really stand out. Definitely a buffet to try if you have won some money on the casino floor.

Mandalay Bay Bayside Buffet
Breakfast 7:00am - 10:45am $12.25
Lunch 11:00am - 2:45pm $14.75
Dinner 3:00pm - 10:00pm $21.75
Sunday Champagne Brunch 7:00am - 2:45pm $21.75

Another beautiful and delightful buffet made more delightful by its decor. The natural foliage and view of the giant lagoon creates great atmosphere for the diners. The food items available are ordinary but are still top quality. The peel and eat chilled shrimp is especially delicious and I enjoy making my own endless shrimp cocktail here. A great place to just relax and eat for a few hours.

One of the most enconomical buffets in Las Vegas is also one of the highest quality. Cocktail shrimps and crab legs are not available for breakfast or lunch, but are available for dinner. Despite this, there is a wide variety of food to be sampled here and all are delicious and fresh. One of the best part of this buffet is the all you can eat gelato at the desert bar. Boasting 10 flavors, the gelato is superb and is a perfect end to any large meal. Sign up for the free Boarding Pass for a even better deal!

Feast Buffet Green Valley Ranch

Same prices and times as Red Rock Feast Buffet.

Created by the same company as Red Rock. This buffet is similar to Red Rock in every way. These two casinos are on opposite sides of town so that you will have access to one or the other no matter where in Las Vegas you are! While the desert station is not as great as Red Rock, the GVR Feast buffet has a mongolian grill station which is a nice addition. Again the boarding pass will work here for a better deal.

That's all for the best buffets in Las Vegas. Until next time, eat well and prosper!
