A Guide to the Best Dance Clubs in Orange County, California

Rebecca White-Glanders
If you love to hit the dance floor when you're out on the town, then the famed Orange County has some great options! From haute and trendy to down and dirty, these great clubs offer ambiance, DJs, dance floors, drinks - and music you can groove to!

Sutra Lounge
1870 Harbor Boulevard
Costa Mesa, CA
Phone: (949) 722-7103

Sutra is by far one of the hottest spots in Orange County! An enormous Buddha oversees all the revelers at Sutra. Top DJs spin a wide variety of music on this dance floor, with state-of-the-art lighting and effects. VIP nooks and hot DJs are added bonuses at this oh-so-trendy club. It's also located near the popular Club Vegas (see below), making it a great stop on a night of bar-hopping.

Club Vegas
1901 Newport Boulevard
Costa Mesa, CA
Phone: (949) 548-9500

Club Vegas is known as a great place to dance, with spacious dance floors and great music! Though it may be a little less trendy than some other clubs (like Sutra), you'll pay less and get a lot less attitude from bouncers and bartenders than you might elsewhere. Stardust, an 80s club, is located inside of Club Vegas - one cover gets you into both clubs. So, if you just want to drink, dance and have a good time, Club Vegas seems like a great pick.

Shark Club
841 Baker Street
Costa Mesa, CA
Phone: (714) 751-6428
Website: http://sharkclub.com/

When it comes to exotic décor, few things are more exotic than a 2,000 gallon shark tank centerpiece! With two dance floors, you'll always have room to shake it for your favorite songs. Add to that two large fireplaces, seven mahogany pool tables, an outdoor smoking lounge with fireplace and two dance floors, and you've got a great setting for any hot night out. Their menu runs the gamut, from steaks and burgers to appetizers and tasty mixed drinks. So eat, drink and dance while enjoying the exotic view of the namesake shark tank.

Pierce Street Annex
330 East 17th Street
Costa Mesa, CA
Phone: (949) 646-8500

Pierce Street Annex is a great place to let loose on the dance floor! Playing mostly hip-hop and Top 40s jams, there's a wide variety to get everyone dancing. When you decide to take a breather, shoot some pool at one of their pool tables. The drinks are well-mixed and reasonably priced. The crowd changes, so you're never quite sure who you'll run into.

Hurricane's Bar & Grill
200 Main Street
Huntington Beach, CA
Phone: (714) 374-0500
Website: http://www.hurricanesbargrill.com/index.htm

This is one of the best places to go for dancing in Huntington Beach! Every Friday they host Club Cane's Dance Party. There's a different theme every night of the week, such as Twisted Tuezdays and Thursdate Night. They also offer live music performances to shake things up a bit. It's a good place to grab a bite before or during your night out, with a Caribbean-inspired menu consisting of African, French and Spanish influences.
