A Guide to Buying and Owning a LeapFrog My First LeapPad System
How to Make the Most Out of Your Child's My First LeapPad
Although the LeapFrog My First LeapPad is a great toy for toddlers and preschoolers to own, many parents are turned off by the system. Many believe that they, instead of a toy, should teach their children how to read. Others are turned off by the fact that the books for the My First LeapPad system cost extra money. For many parents, they expect to buy a toy and be done with the expense of doing of so. Even if these are views that you share, this learning system is an educational toy that you will still want to take the time to examine.
As previously stated, one turn off for many parents is that additional books need to be purchased for this system. Yes, this is money that you may not want to spend, but it is also important to remember that there are ways to get around having to pay the traditional $10 or $12 required to purchase most of these LeapFrog My First LeapPad books. For starters, you will want to look for great sales. This is easiest done online. With an unlimited number of retailers selling the LeapPad books, you are sure to find at least a few books on sale at just about any point in time.
It is also important to remember that you do not have to purchase the LeapFrog My First LeapPad books new either. Although many parents prefer buying new things for their children, you may be able to save yourself a considerable amount of money with buying used. To do so, you may want to examine online auction websites, like eBay. In fact, did you know that many sellers choose to group multiple books together? When doing so, you often receive an even larger discount. In keeping with eBay and other online auction websites, you may also find discounted new LeapPad books available for sale as well.
As for the important point of teaching your child how to read, all parents should know that the LeapFrog My First LeapPad does not have to be used to teach your child how to read. Although there are a number of benefits to doing so, this LeapFrog learning system offers so much more.
In addition having sentences and words that will be repeated when touched with the attached pen, all LeapFrog books come with additional activities. For example, we have the "Dora The Explorer To the Rescue," My First LeapPad book. With this book and most others, all images are interactive. Your child may be able to highlight a book and hear the word "book," or they may be able to highlight a barn and hear a cow moo. In fact, most books come with fun interactive games on each page!
As previously stated, the LeapFrog My First LeapPad is an item that is both fun and educational in nature. Although this toy can be played with solo, there are a number of benefits to playing right along side with your child. This helps to give you an advantage, should you wish to use this item to teach your child how to read. You can also repeat everything that the system says to your child. This repetition is likely to aid your child in their quest to remember what they heard or saw. Of course, the one-on-one time that you spend together will also likely be appreciated by both you and your child.
As previously stated, the LeapFrog My First LeapPad does have its disadvantages, but, after a close look, you will likely see that the advantages often far outweigh those disadvantages.

Post a CommentI've wondered about LF products.
We got one for our grandson for Christmas and he uses it every single day. He loves it!
We got a lot of benefit out of ours as we helped a child from another country learn English, etc. It was very useful!
