Casio company was founded in Tokyo, Japan in 1946. Casio watches are sold at prices significantly less than Citizen and Seiko. Casio watch prices range anywhere from thirty dollars for a regular Casio Analog watch on the rubber strap to three hundred dollars for a high-tech Casio G-Shock Atomic Solar watch on the rubber strap. Casio watch company is famous for producing high-tech digital watches. They also manufacture watches that are great for various activities. For example, Casio Pathfinder has features like compass, thermometer, chronographer, alarm and even world time zone clock. So clearly Casio Pathfinder is a great watch for expeditions, world travel and any other outdoors trips and activities. Many of the Casio watches are solar powered which means that they get charged from the sun light.
Citizen watch company was founded in Japan in 1918. Citizen watch company is extremely famous for their innovation in watch making. Their recent technological invention is called "Eco-Drive" . "Eco-Drive" technology powers the watch movement with the light from the sun or any artificial light. Once the watch have received enough of light it can be working for a couple of months without any other recharge. "Eco-Drive" watch movement will never need any battery changed at all. Most of the current Citizen watches already do have "Eco-Drive" built in. Prices on Citizen watches range depending on the complications that the watch has. For example, a Citizen "Eco-Drive" stainless steel watch with alarm, chronographer and day/date calendar costs about five hundred dollars. However average Citizen watch prices range from about hundred dollars for a stainless steel Citizen Eco-Drive 180 men's watch to about seven hundred dollars for a stainless steel Citizen 'Promaster SST' Men's Race Chronograph watch.
Seiko watch company was founded in Tokyo, Japan in 1881. Seiko watch company is very old and highly innovative. It is another powerhouse in the Japanese watch making industry and a number one competitor to the Citizen watch company. Recent technological invention from Seiko is called "Kinetic" watch movement. "Kinetic" watch movement is the movement that charges itself as you move with kinetic energy, so you never have to change a battery. "Kinetic" watch movement is very similar to the "Eco-Drive" technology. Prices on Seiko "Kinetic" watches range anywhere from about two hundred dollars for a stainless steel Seiko 'Excelsior' men's Kinetic watch to about five hundred dollars for a stainless steel Seiko 'Le Grand Sport' Kinetic men's watch. Seiko "Kinetic" watches are very competitively priced to Citizen "Eco-Drive" watches. Seiko is the only watch company, compared to Casio and Citizen, that manufactures watches that are powered with the body movement and not with solar or any other kind of light. That makes Seiko to stand out amongst the competition.
Casio, Citizen and Seiko are watch making companies that have created timepieces for almost any taste and need. Weather you want a high-tech, tough , solar powered watch for an expedition or a slick, business like watch that is powered by your body movement those three watch companies can get you any of that. Casio, Citizen and Seiko are at the pinnacle of Japanese watch making industry. They are the unique alternative to Swiss watches and a great addition to a the global watch making industry.
