A Guide for the Chocolate Lover in Chicago: Where to Get Your Fix

In Chicago anyone could get their sweet tooth craving filled with abundance. One could get lost in the search for great chocolate if they didn't know exactly where to look. Here are five of the best places to stop and fulfill your chocoholic's fantasy:

First on my stop of gooey delights is Bon Bon. This delightful little shop is located at 5410 N. Clark St. in Chicago. They offer everything from the most mouthwatering truffles to a set called Kama Sutra Chocolates.

Leonidas located at 231 S La Salle St # 8 in Chicago offers a more sophisticated take on the finest chocolates. The truffles (or pearls so I have been told) are the best I have ever tasted. They are smooth, creamy chocolate, wrapped in hard chocolate, rolled in powdered chocolate. This is a true piece of heaven for your palate.

Teuscher Chocolates of Switzerland on 900 N Michigan Ave # 5 in Chicago is another fine chocolate find. The store is filled to the brim with a variety of different delicious chocolates. If you ever get the pleasure of visiting this fine store please take a moment to taste their house specialty; Champagne Truffles. They are to die for.

A truly decadent chocolate truffle is not hard to find if you visit Three Tarts Bakery and Café located on 301 S. Happ Road in Chicago. The aroma of every kind of sweet you could imagine washes over you as soon as you open the door, making every taste bud you own salivate. There are so many different varieties of Katherine Anne chocolate truffles here from Cherry Amaretto to Citrus and I can not forget the creamy piece of heaven called Coconut Rum. There really are so many choices it is very hard to pick a favorite. This little café is borderline sinful with so many goodies it is hard to pass by it anytime I am in Chicago.

Last, but not least on my list, is Hershey's. It may be because it is a childhood favorite or simply because it is great chocolate. My favorite is the kisses (who doesn't love a great kiss and better a chocolate one?). The store is located on 822 North Michigan Avenue in Chicago and inside looks like you might imagine Willy Wonka's store to be. If you are on the hunt for entertainment and chocolate while you are in Chicago, The Hershey store is something you just can't miss.
