A Guide to Downloading Movies for Free

Well to start off with I am a big movie fan, no that's an understatement... I am a HUGE movie fan and if I had things my way I would do nothing but watch movies all day long.

Now I'm not rich so supporting my movie addiction was at times very challenging considering the amount I would watch, one day a few years back I was stumbling around on the internet when lo and behold I came across a site that advertised free movies to download, I was flabbergasted and immediately hit the download button, unfortunately that site turned out to be a scam and then asked me for money once I entered, but that didn't stop me from continuing my search since I found out it is possible there must be a way to do it for free.

Kazaa:

Kazaa is a freeware program that enables users to share anything and everything they want across the globe whether it is movies, games, music, apps, e-books, literally anything under the sun. I used this program for a while but soon got disappointed and aggravated as a lot of times there were hidden viruses in the files and so on so I decided to look for something new.

Ares:

I don't remember how exactly I found Ares but I remember thinking that this was my final solution to my problems. Virtually it was the same type of program as Kazaa but it worked a lot smoother and was less of a risk to my computer. The problem I had with both of these programs was the fact that speed relied entirely on the other user/users who where sharing with you so sometimes it really dragged and would take hours to download the smallest thing.

UTorrent:

I stumbled upon this Torrent Downloader program on accident not knowing much about torrents so I tried it out using Mininova.com as my source for the movies I downloaded with Utorrent, and surprisingly it worked great and for the most part the speeds were great (about 700 MBs in 1 to 3 hours) for me at the time so I got rid of Ares and started a new with Torrents. I used this program for over a year and still do occasionally but wait until I told you about what saved my life.

RAPIDSHARE.COM:

I always sort of new about rapidshare but hadn't used it for much except maybe small downloads here and there as a free user and was not so impressed by the speeds and waiting time, so I stayed away from it for some time. Eventually however I started finding more and more links for rapidshare movie downloads that were a lot better than the torrent ones. So one day I bought a 1 month rapidshare premium account with my paypal and tried out the first link of a 700 MB movie it was 100Mb and the surprise I got when literally not 2 minutes passed and it was finished I was more than hooked, this was and is by far the best way to download movies and anything else but it's only worth it if you have a premium account. I have since been buying rapidshare accounts faithfully every month and have reached such speeds as 2Mb per second imagine that means in about 6 minutes you could have downloaded a full movie. Cool HUH!

Personally when I'm gonna buy an account I go to Ebay.com and search for them and usually get it for a couple bucks cheaper than on the website.

Rapidshare also has a program where if you upload a file and free users download it you get 1 point per download and when you get a bunch of those you can get a premium account with them.

Some other file hosting sites which I don't really use include: Megashare.com, Megaupload.com, Filehosting.com, Netdownload.com, to name a few but rapidshare has the most and best links around.
