A Guide to FarmVille on Facebook

Krystal Doolittle
FarmVille is probably one of the most popular games on Facebook right now. If you are one of the few who aren't playing, or if you are having some trouble hopefully this guide can help you. I will explain everything I have learned since starting my own little farm.

The most important thing to being successful fairly fast is friends. You and your friends can send items back and forth. These are very useful since most items can make you money on a regular basis. Unlike many other farm applications on Facebook, the animals actually make you money. Give gifts often and have your friends do the same. I haven't bought a tree or animal yet.

Next you need to understand you cannot expand your farm until you have 8 friends who are your neighbors on FarmVille. Soon your little plot of land will become cramped, so you will want to expand after a while. Keep this in mind. You can post a message asking for neighbors if you don't like sending individual invites.

I also suggest that you do not buy animals or trees. Yes they have their value but you should really stick to just having others gift them to you. They cost quite a bit and don't really have that high of a payout. They also take a while to produce. Save your money for the crops, it costs to dig a plot out, and it costs for each group of seeds. Think ahead when it comes to this sort of thing. When it comes to crops these will be your money makers. Pay attention to the time each crop lists. This is how long it will take for it to grow. If you take too long coming back to check on it, the plants will have withered and died along with your cash flow. If you only check Facebook once a day, then make sure your crops will take a day or more to grow. Also pay attention to which ones pay more. If it takes four days to grow, and pays 200 gold it's not really that much better than those that pay 100 gold and take one day.

The next thing I suggest is visit your friends farms. You can't actually do anything to their farms, but the farmers will ask you to pull weeds or something similar. You will get gold and experience points. This is a great way to get money if you are running low. You don't get tons of money but every little bit helps.

My little farmer is calling me and it's getting about time to harvest my rice. Good Luck and happy farming!
