Kelly Banaski Sons
Wyoming landscape is unlike the majority of the country, even the world. Stone spires reach high into the sky and majestic mountains stand guard like giant sentinels. The state parks in Wyoming offer many activities in addition to the stunning opportunities to sight see. The fishing is plentiful and ice fishing is a popular activity in the winter months. Several of the state parks off some of the best fishing spots in the state.

Boyson State park

Boyson celebrates ice fishing each year with a contest for the biggest fish and a winterfest. There are many campsites to choose from all with a unique access to lakes for fishing. This park is known for its walleye and trout population. There are also many other species such as ling, whitefish, bluegill and splake. Fishing licences, bait and other supplies can be found in bait shops and visitors centers throughout the park. Campsites are available from very rustic tent sites to full service RV pull throughs. The Wind River Indian Reservation surrounds the park. The Boyson Reservoir is home to much of the water activities throughout the year.

Seminoe State Park

One of Wyomings greatest treasures is the Seminoe Resivior, home to trout, walleye and bluegill. The Seminoe Mountains hover over the campground and offer the perfect breeding ground for fish in the many caves . Boating is a popular activity here as well as swimming and picnicking. There are several campsites both day use and overnight use. Tent sites and full service RV spots are both available. Grills, comfort stations and bait shops dot the park for convenience. There is a local reputation of exceedingly good trout fishing in the area.

Edness K. Wilkins State Park is a day use only park with very high fish populations in the "Miracle Mile" portion of the Seminoe Reservoir. Families enjoy the quiet surroundings and ample wildlife. There are several sources of potable drinking water and mountains of white sand dunes. The small boat dock and marina provide fishing licenses plus supplies and rations. There is 180 miles of sandy beach suitable for jogging as well a hiking through the steep dunes.

Fishing isn't the only activity in these Wyoming state parks but it is a great place to start.
