A Guide for Getting "Free" Show Tickets in Las Vegas

Time Share Presentation 101

Beside your basic free attraction provided by your favorite casinos (the Water Fountain display by Bellagio, the Volcano at the Mirage, the lion habitat at the MGM Grand), there is a way to get premium "free" show tickets.

At almost every casino hotel lobby, there is someone who is willing offer two free tickets to popular shows that isn't cirque du soliel. The catch is that you have to spent about 90 minutes to 2 hrs on a timeshare presentation.

Many of you will say no thanks as two hours is a pretty long time. But the end result is two free tickets to popular shows like the Blue man group at the Venetian (younger generation); 18 and over show for the over 18; Donnie and Marie at the Flamingo (older generation) or variety shows for all ages (The Price is Right). Each of these shows are at around 60 to 80 dollars and some include a dinner as well. That averages out to $35 per person per hour.

Many of the presentation are early in the morning, usually at 9am, 11am and 1pm. At most places, you get complementary breakfast (your typical coffee, bagel, cereal and a banana). If you are a married couple with kids, then you should take advantage of the 9am presentation. There should not be any kids waking up before 11am on a vacation.

Most of these timeshare presentation will also allow you to purchase additional tickets at discounted price if you want more than two tickets.

People might say they don't want to deal with salespeople forcing a timeshare condo down their throat. The first 45 minutes is basically showing you a room. Then you will get a break (bathroom/breakfast) where the salesperson will sit you down at the table. 95 percent of the salespeople I have met are generally nice. The important thing to remember is that they want to do as many presentation as possible. It isn't about shoving or forcing. During the 45 minute showcasing of the room, the salesperson will have a general idea of your interest in a time share. They will know you by the time you sit down that you are generally interested or just want your tickets and get out. Don't be too honest like "I am doing this for the tickets." Allow the salesperson to get through the presentation and their pitch and decline everything.

At the table sitdown, just remember that the price and offer might look real tempting. Your goal isn't to get a time share but to get the tickets. There will be some fight but just gently decline three or four times and you are good. By the 4th (meh, no thanks, not interested, money is tight or whatever method you want to decline), you should start the process of leaving and getting your tickets. If you are starting to hit the 2 hour mark, casually lie about having a lunch gathering at blah blah and got to go.

Generally, the big issue of a timeshare is forcing you to go on vacation every year and the amount of maintanece fee each year. Money is always a big issue so always use that.

Here is a list of casinos that I personally know that has someone talk to you about a presentation for show tickets.
-Bally
-Tropicana
-Luxor
-Excalibur
-Harrahs
-O'Sheas
-Paris
