Heart disease is still on the top of the list as the cause of death for men. Other factors may remain in the background and not recognized as life threatening.

Environmental toxins can have a negative affect the health of men. Symptoms of fatigue, low libido and erectile dysfunction can reduce the quality of life by increasing the risk diabetes, heart disease and strokes.

Men are notorious for avoiding the doctor, especially when the symptoms they are experiencing involve their virility. Usually it is the wife that insists that a visit to the doctor is needed. Environmental toxins can slow thyroid function and allow testosterone to be converted into estrogen, which may reduce "manliness."

Lowered activity leads to being overweight, especially with the "big belly" is an indication that you could be on the edge of diabetes, heart disease and stroke. Erectile dysfunction is a major concern because it is often a symptom of an unhealthy heart and may be an indication that it is time to have a thorough physical examination.

To reduce your level of environmental toxins avoid beverages in plastic bottles, switch to using toxin-free grooming and household products. Protect your lungs and skin from toxins when working around lawn chemicals. If your job involves working with chemicals, change clothes and shower at work, if possible. If that is not possible, you should avoid wearing chemically soiled clothing into the house for any length of time. When working with any kind of chemicals you should shower and change clothing as soon as possible.

Restrict your sugar intake and consume meals with a balance of lean protein and plenty of cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage. Include more tomatoes, carrots, yams and other fresh vegetables. Cherries, blueberries, raspberries, grapes and other dark colored fruit should be included daily.

Increase your exercise by walking, or begin an exercise program to improve flexibility and strength. Strength training will reduce stress, stretch your muscles and improve your balance.

You can reduce the effects of environmental toxins by boosting your immune system. There are supplements recommended for men to support overall good health. Some of the most recommended are:

Fish oil - to support heart health, control blood pressure and improve memory.

Vitamin D - to protect against prostate cancer.

L-arginine / L-citrulline combination - to relieve ED.

Red yeast rice - to control cholesterol.

Acetyl-L-carnitine - to support the heart, brain and healthy testosterone levels.

CoQ10 - to keep the heart healthy.

Magnesium - to enable blood vessels and muscles to relax and overall well being.

Always consult your physician before changing your diet or taking supplements.
