Do you live in Northwest Ohio/Southeast Michigan? Are you looking for "Toledo Area" family fun events to celebrate the Halloween season? Well, I have some great suggestions and dates that are coming up.

October 6/7 MacQueen's Apple Butter Festival

Located on Garden Road in Holland Ohio, come enjoy the festivities including apple picking, apple butter making and all sorts of fun events for the little ones including hay rides and pony rides. The event is open all weekend and starts both days at 10 am.

October 13/14 Oktoberfest @ Put-In-Bay

An Oktoberfest celebration with German roots, this event lets families come together at Put-In-Bay and enjoy the activities and events planned. Enjoy a lot of good food and fun times with family and friends!

October 20/21 and 27/28 COSI

COSI-The Center Of Science and Industry in downtown Toledo offers a fun weekend twice entitled the "Spooky Science Spooktacular". The science center sets up a spooky, haunted laboratory that lets you take a look at scary but educational effects and thrills for the whole family. Regular admission into COSI covers this special event. COSI opens both days at 10 am.

October 19/20 Garrison Ghost Walk

In Perrysburg, Ohio you will find the Fort Meigs on the Maumee River at West River Street. Come enjoy a night of fun, as the workers of the fort explore and explain to you all of the scary tales of the fort. This night of fun is to a campfire, and your little ones might be a bit frightened, but it is better for bigger kids and adults. Enjoy this event one or both nights for a real scary adventure.

October 25/26 Little Boo at the Zoo

The Toledo Zoo offers two separate events for your children. The first is this, a night where little children toddler and preschool age are able to explore and celebrate the season with their family in a controlled, less noise environment. The Toledo Zoo is found at 2700 Broadway Avenue in South Toledo.

October 27-28 The Pumpkin Path at the Zoo

Starting both days at 10 am, the Toledo Zoo at 2700 Broadway Avenue offers a family experience for all ages. The event is a blast, offering children of all ages a chance to visit stations to get candy through the park and play games, paint faces and do crafts. Overall, the Halloween celebration is a fun way for the whole family to enjoy the day together.

You forgot the Grand Rapids Applebutter Festival, Oct. 14th! But that might have been a little southwest of your coverage area, I guess. Great stuff! We're looking for things to do (we're in Findlay).
