There are hundreds of haunted sites in Ohio, but none come close to the number of haunted cemeteries in the state.

The Mt. Unger Cemetery is haunted by the ghost of a man who hung himself there. The Rose Hill Burial Park in Akron is haunted by a mysterious lady in white. She always appears in the back of the cemetery and is sometimes introduced by a light fog that covers the ground.

The Northwood Cemetery in Cambridge is where you'll find a ghostly woman in an old-fashioned white dress. Though she is only seen in the summer months, she usually disappears in the blink of an eye. Elizabeth's Grave is a famous story told in the Chillicothe area. The woman hanged herself from a tree in the cemetery, and was later buried near the front of the graveyard. Though they placed a headstone over her grave, it moves itself back to the tree.

In the Castalia Cemetery locals claim that their car dies and their hear screaming when driving through the area at night. Legend also says that those who see smoke or a fire in the cemetery will pass by their own headstone later that night. The Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati is home to some of the most famous legends. This is where there is a bust with glowing eyes that moves its head, and two ghostly white dogs who roam the area.

The Davron Cemetery in Cleveland closed during the 1880's, but that hasn't stopped the spirits. Visitors at night report hearing something howling and screaming, and seeing broken headstones. The next day though everything is in perfect condition.

Columbia Station, Ohio has two haunted cemeteries. A little girl haunts the Columbia Cemetery, while a marble ball atop a headstone in the Myrtle Hill Cemetery has an oddly warm feel to it all year round. At the Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery in Columbus you can see a mysterious lady in gray who visit's a soldier's grave. Many people have also heard a woman crying when the cemetery is empty.

The Beach Grove Cemetery in Corning has a bell tower with no bells, yet still chimes frequently and some tombstones that seem to glow. At the New Washington Cemetery in Crawford, you can see the picture of a woman on one tombstone that changes expressions. Then visit the Dalton Cemetery, which is haunted by the town founder and his wife, as well as an unnamed third man. Or visit the Beard Cemetery in Dundas where people see glowing headstones and a mysterious ghost dog.

Buck Cemetery in Evansport closed in 1955, but people still report seeing odd figures standing near the entrance. Lucas Cemetery in Mansfield is also known as May Jane's Cemetery due to the ghost there. The woman was burned to death after admitting she practiced witchcraft in the 1800's. A tree in the cemetery bares her name, and many people claim it bleeds. Some say the woman was buried in an unmarked grave next to the tree. Also in Mansfield is the Pleasant Valley Cemetery where people see orbs and odd figures that also turn up in their photographs.

Johnson's Island Cemetery in Marblehead is haunted by the soldiers buried there. People hear what sounds like gunshots followed by the sounds of men screaming. The Palmer Cemetery in Mendon is home to a monument that glows green, while the Marion Cemetery has a large marble ball that rotates on its own. Despite dozens of investigations, no one has found a reason why it turns.

The Hill Grove Cemetery is Miamisburg is haunted by several teenage spirits. One is a girl who cries over a headstone, while the other is a girl who committed suicide after her religious family disowned her. Stop by the Woodside Cemetery in Middletown and you can see five men hanging from a nearby tree. The men robbed a bank and were hung from the tree, but the tree itself is now gone.

Milan, Ohio has a haunted cemetery where people see a glowing headstone and catch orbs in their photographs. The Millville Cemetery is haunted by several spirits. One is an older man, while the other is a fairly young girl. Then there's the Old Salem Cemetery in Morristown. According to legend the large tree was once used as a hanging tree and is now cursed by the spirits of those who died there. A statue at a cemetery in Mt. Blanchard has glowing eyes, and some people claim they have heard footsteps in the empty graveyard.

New Carlisle's Blacks Cemetery is supposedly haunted by voices and figures. I say supposedly because I've actually been to the cemetery and saw nothing except teenagers doing stupid things! Those who have visited the Lawrence Chapel Graveyard in Scottown has seen something following them. There are also rumors that a Satanic cult practices there.

Shelby's Green Eyes Cemetery is certainly interesting. The cemetery was actually the cemetery for the now gone St. Paul's Psychiatric Reformed Cemetery. People claim to see glowing green eyes, hear people screaming, and a large dark like creature that chases them.

The Otterbein Cemetery in Somerset has an odd horseshoe that appears on one headstone, that looks like blood. Springboro's Salem Cemetery is also haunted, with people feeling someone watching them. Troy's Grove Cemetery is haunted by foortsteps and a woman screaming. Some people also claim to hear someone moaning in the nearby woods.

At the Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Valley City you will find a granite ball decorating a headstone. The ball continues to stay warm year round, regardless of the weather outside. Supposedly a witch was buried in the grave. It kind of makes you feel bad for the family of the woman who's actually buried there!

There's also a headstone in Woodville that continues to have a strange face appear on the stone. Supposedly the man buried there murdered his wife. At the Winchester Cemetery you can see a crying statue, and hear someone calling out your name.

There are more haunted cemeteries in Ohio, but these are some of the most popular ones.
