1. First, Kwanzaa decorations should display the Kwanzaa colors (green, red and black) throughout your home. This is a very easy way that you can really bring the theme of Kwanzaa together. You can use these colors when setting you table by choosing table linens place cards and flowers that will display these themes.
2. Secondly, Kwanzaa decorations also consist of items that are used during the Kwanzaa celebrations. These items do not only have a purpose, but they can also be decorative. The candle holder or Kinara can make a beautiful centerpiece along with a matching ceremonial cup. Here is a website that sells Kinaras, mats and matching cups for your table. Corn is also an important symbol of this holiday. Corn can be displayed in nicely baskets or plates for an ornamental display.
3. During Kwanzaa it is important to celebrate African American heritage. One great way to do this is buy purchasing African art for Kwanzaa decorations or displaying the African art that you already have more prominently. If you don't currently have any African art I would recommend taking a look at the selection on Africanart.com. These website offers a very wide selection of pieces and textiles that would make an outstanding display piece for your Kwanzaa decorations. The nice thing is that if you do purchase some nice African art to use during your celebration this is something that you will be able to display year round for your enjoyment.
4. Another great Kwanzaa decoration is the Pan African flag. This comes in more than one style and can be displayed inside our outside of your home. I found an excellent variety at PanAfricanFlags.com.
5. Finally, since this is a holiday for families, doing some crafts at home with your children is a great way to decorate for the holidays. There are several different sites that offer some great craft ideas that you can do with your children. Enchanted Learning has some cute projects that you can do with your kids that would make excellent Kwanzaa decorations.
Whether you choose to purchase some new items for your home or do a do it yourself Kwanzaa your Kwanzaa decorations are sure to warm your home as you bring together the people you love.
