A Guide to the Night Life in Glen Allen, Virginia

I read recently that Glen Allen is rated the nicest place to live in Virginia, and apparently the word has really gotten out. I'm a local girl in the apartment leasing industry. I can tell you I've been seeing a mass flocking of people from all around the country to my neck of the woods. In fact, as many people as I've met that moved here from Ohio I'm almost inclined to go see if anyone is left in Ohio! Here, for you newcomers, straight from the mouth of a Glen Allen girl, is a guide on where to go when the sun goes down in Glen Allen.

The Pour House is a sports bar located on the corner of Pump Rd and Three Chopt Rd in the Ukrop's shopping center. You can visit them on the web at www.thepourhouse.us. There is always something going on at the Pour House from weekly theme nights like trivia on Monday's, karaoke on Sunday's and Tuesdays, ladies 80's on Saturday, and poker night Wednesday to seasonal events like their annual bikini contest, costume parties and naughty Santa party. Come hang out with the locals at the pour house, and be sure to order a pitcher of their finest PH light! The Pour House also serves food until 1 a.m., so if you're hungry try the pierogies! They're the perfect midnight snack to tide you over until morning.

The Beach House is another great bar in the Glen Allen area. It's located right in Innsbrook. The Beach House is a tropical themed establishment, with an outdoor seating area and a juke box! Beyond being a fun and fully stocked bar they also serve some really great food! It's a great place to take the family for lunch or an early diner. After 7 p.m. it's one of my favorite places to have a few drinks and hang out with friends. They serve food until 1 a.m. so be sure to try the crab cake sliders no matter what time you arrive!

The Keys is a dueling piano bar that is scheduled to open fall of this year. It will be attached to the beach house bar, but they will be two totally different worlds. The Keys is a dueling piano bar. Dueling Piano shows are located all around the country and if you've ever been to see one you know how excited we are to be getting one right here in Glen Allen! There will be two pianists on stage; these guys are masters of their art. They can play and sing anything from Mozart to AC/DC to Tu Pac to George Jones on the ivories. The audience writes down song requests for them and sends them up, along with a little monetary incentive to get the song played. If you don't like the song they're playing write down a better one and send up some money, they'll immediately switch to your request. The Keys put on a preview of the Dueling Pianos a couple of weeks ago. I went to see it and I can tell you that you will not be disappointed! From what I understand The Keys is to be a bit higher class establishment, so dress to impress!

I'm sure you'll have a great time living in Glen Allen. We're friendly laid back people and we all just really want to have fun. Come on out and dance to some 80's music at the Pour House, play your favorite tunes on the Juke Box and the Beach house or enjoy a fantastic piano show at The Keys.
