A Guide to Online Surveys and My Opinion of Them

Jason Ward
I have dabbled occasionally with online survey sites. So I suppose you could call me a half-way experienced online surveyor. I wanted to tell you the honest truth about the real pay-off of surveys and your time.

The first most important thing to know is that by doing online surveys you are definitely not going to get rich. Getting rich is really an unrealistic goal for a few minutes of your time. If you want to be satisfied with the time you spend giving your opinion in online surveys realize you must be reasonable in what you expect as the, "Out come" at the end of the survey. It is true that some survey companies pay you a small fee for your time but it is even more true that most do not pay anything at all. So if you only get paid a few dollars what is really the big pay-off for spending your time taking online surveys?

To tell you the truth the real pay-off for me is not the minimal amount of money I make participating in them. The real pay-off for me is the ability to get my opinions heard on products that I use in my household and everyday life.

Taking online surveys allows you to speak about the products you use and are very important to you, the products that you think need a little improvement to better suit your needs, and the ones that you simply wish didn't exist. You have the ability to tell the manufactures of all kinds of products how you feel about them! This allows you as an individual to help shape the future of the products you use and those that you may use in the future.

The great thing about being able to shape and comment on new products is that you often get a sample of the product to try personally before you give your opinion.
The pay off of surveys are having the ability to get your opinion heard on what you like and do not like in a product. There are tons of surveys conducted on many various products. Some survey companies offer you sample products to try while others may only want your opinion on a product you are already using. You get to have a say on the products that line your store shelves in many of their departments.

So there it is, the honest truth about the real pay-off of online surveys. Online surveys will not make you rich but may pay a few dollars for your time and earn you a free product to try. You choose the products you like and those you do not. If you are still interested in online surveys now that you know the "real" pay off for your time here are two great sites to get you started well on your way.

http://fun.mysurvey.com/join.cfm?r=1898860 Sends quite a few surveys monthly and pays in points which can later be redeemed for cash or merchandise. On a few occasions you may receive a product to try. This is a great company to join as it easy to use and they have a lot of nice little perks.

www.pineconeresearch.com - This particular company sends quite a lot of surveys per month. Each survey has been paying five dollars each and on occasion you may get a free product to try. It is not the easiest website to join so choose your words wisely when applying. They pay around 5 dollars per completed survey.

I am from South Africa and I wish all of our top brands could be surveyed on line, especially our government departments - surveys audited by private institutions. Our service is really bad and our food prices are sky high.
