A trip to Paris can prove fairly inexpensive if you stick to a budget and try to only make affordable choices. Here is a guide to help you save money when visiting the lovely city.

1) Try to travel to Paris in the off season. Book a trip for between November and April for the ideal travel deals. Christmas can be lovely in Paris. You will also find better hotel deals in the off season. Many lodgings offer winter discounts.

2) If you are a senior be sure to show proof because seniors are widely respected in Paris and most establishments offer discounts.

3) Members of AARP also receive discounts on hotels, food and car rentals.

4) If you are a student be sure to show your student card because many places offer student discounts.

5) Many museums are free in Paris but for the ones that charge money it is helpful to purchase the Museum Pass. This wonderful pass will get anyone into any of the museums in the area for one set price. You can choose a two, four, or six day pass that is good at over 60 museums and monuments.

6) Conciergerie is a website that offers many discount tickets to leading shows, tours, and other events.

8) Here are a few budget hotels in Paris that offer nice accommodations for cheap. These are safe hotels that are clean and offer excellent customer service.

This hotel usually runs $150-$234 for two people. It is a charming establishment that is sure to please. It is a converted 17th century convent. You are within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower.

This hotel is referred to as a cross between a hotel and a hostel. A double rate runs between $70.00-$140.00.
This hotel used to be a 13th century convent. Rooms do not have televisions. Only three rooms offer a toilet and shower. The rest of the rooms share a bathroom down the hallway. No credit cards are taken at this hotel.

This hotel offers Wi-Fi throughout. It does have nice bathrooms that come complete with a shower. Rates are $130.00-$170.00 for doubles.

9) When dining in Paris try to discover where the locals eat. Choose dine at out of the way cafes which often offer wonderful food for reasonable prices. Paris also has fast food chains which offer a fast meal on the go for fairly cheap. You can also head for a local market and buy food like the locals do. Have a picnic or pack brown paper bag lunches when you visit the attractions to save money on your food bill.

10) Utilize public transport in Paris if you cannot walk to your desired locations. This will save a great deal of money because rental cars can be quite expensive.
