Find it at 35 Cumberland Avenue in downtown Plattsburgh.

At City Hall, you can find the anchor from the British ship "Confiance", which was found by divers in Lake Champlain in 1996 and restored after 182 years. See the anchor and learn how the Confiance played a pivotal role in the Battle of Plattsburgh in this ornate display.

And any history buff interested in the War of 1812 will certainly want to spend some time at the War of 1812 Museum, located at 31 Washington Road, Plattsburgh. Dedicated to teaching the importance of the War of 1812 in American history, the museum hosts events, has programs for children as well as adults, and contains an "Interpretive Gallery" of artifacts. It also contains a diorama of the battlefield in Plattsburgh so visitors can visualize the progression of events.

With sixty varieties of fish (including Salmon), any fisher is sure to have a good time angling in this beautiful fishing locale. The beaches in Plattsburgh are breathtaking, clean, and best of all, quiet and not crowded, so you can enjoy a day at the beach in peace. After your day of boating, fishing, or beach bumming, you can enjoy a great meal at one of Plattsburgh's waterfront restaurants. And you never know when you might have a sighting of "Champy", the Lake Champlain equivalent of the Lock Ness Monster.
