A Guide to Recalled Over the Counter Medications
Tylenol, Motrin, Benedrl, Rolaids, Simply Sleep, and St Joseph's Aspirin
Recently McNeil Products has voluntarily recalled several brands of over the counter medications because of a moldy, musty, mildew like odor. It has been deteremined that the cause of the odor is associated with a chemical called 2, 4, 6 tribromoanisole, which came into contact with wood pallets that store the chemicals to make the over the counter medications listed below. There has not been any serious injuries from this odor, but has caused some consumers to have stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea and vomiting. Since December 2009, consumers have been instructed to call 1-888-222-6036 for questions and concerns regarding the recall.
You can view the list, along with a picture of each product at www.McNeilProductRecall.com. You can also see the lot number of each product that has been recalled. If you do not see the lot number on the packaging of your over the counter medication, then your product is not being recalled at this time.
