A Guide to Rental Information Packs in Cyprus

Information packs are a standard expectation of rental property in Cyprus. People that come to Cyprus for a holiday stay or even a temporary long term stay and are renting out a home as opposed to a hotel room typically expect to have an information pack presented to them before they reach their rental. If you have property that you will be renting out either on your own or with the assistance of an agent you will need to provide your guests with an information pack before their arrival.

Rental information packs are pretty standard across the bar in regards to what is actually included in the information pack that the guests receive. Since you will be giving your guests the information pack prior to their arrival at the property it is important to have a good detailed map in the information pack. The map should be of the local area and provide adequate directions for locating the property upon arriving in Cyprus. This will be helpful for guests that will be driving themselves and those that will be taking a taxi as the driver may not be familiar with the area. If your rental is located in a small village with improper signage you are typically able to put up signs with no problems.

You should also provide information on local tourist attractions in the information pack. You can usually obtain brochures and flyers at no cost from tourist offices. Emergency contact numbers for you in your home country as well as a local number in Cyprus should be provided in the event that the guest arrive late or have other problems. And there should also be instructions provided on how and where the guests are to collect the keys. Ideally someone should meet the guests with the keys if possible.

Another information pack should be provided in the actual rental. It will be specific to the property. It should detail how to work appliances, electronics and heat and air. It should detail any security measures such as if alarms need to be set. Any possible dangers should be emphasized and local emergency numbers such as for a doctor should be provided. And you can also offer personal recommendations for restaurants or shops.

It is not uncommon for there to be a guest book in a rental home. And some property owners have welcome baskets and flowers to greet guest on their arrival.

While this information is geared towards someone that is renting out their own property in Cyprus, it is also beneficial to someone looking to rent out a home in Cyprus as it details what sort of information you can expect to receive from your host.
