The standard White Barn candle is fifteen ounces. They don't take up much counter space - they're five inches tall and have a diameter of four inches. These candles work well for one room and the scents have been developed by master perfumers. The candle burns up to one hundred hours. A candle can last even longer if you use a candle warmer instead of burning it.
The oil burners that Bath and Body Works sells come in two popular styles but each works the same: a tealight candle is placed in the bottom, and a few drops of oil are placed in a dish on the top. Oil will spread scent throughout a room quicker than a candle. The bottles of oil are quite small - only .33 ounces. However, it is recommended you use no more than 20 drops at a time, so the bottle will still last. The oil can also be used to liven up potpourri and comes in a dropper bottle.
Wallflower burners are a classic at Bath and Body Works. They come in a standard version, as well as a nightlight version. The nightlight can be turned on/off while the unit is plugged in. A Wallflower is designed to fill a room with continuous fragrance. They are easy to use because they can be plugged in horizontally or vertically. A fragrance bulb will last six to eight weeks.
The ScentPort is another plug-in device. It is a state-of-the-art diffuser. This device is designed to give maximum fragrance output and also uses a separate fragrance bulb that can be easily refilled. Bath and Body Works' ScentPort refills will last about as long as a Wallflower refill, but not quite.
Bath and Body Works' room sprays can be used like any other room spray. They give an immediate burst of scent to any room. The room sprays come in a convenient 1.5 ounce bottle. The small size makes them great for travel or for keeping in a purse. Smoky hotel rooms or icky rest stop bathrooms can be freshened with ease.
Picking a type of home fragrance at Bath and Body Works doesn't have to be a difficult choice. Once you know how strong of a scent you want, and how long you want it to last, and you know which products are stronger or longer lasting, the choice should be a bit easier. Until you set out to pick a fragrance, that is.
