A Guide to Stress Free Living

Stepping Outside the Gates of Hell

Katherine Hearld
We all have those days, months, even years of waking up and dreading the day. Re-living the monotonous tasks of daily life over and over again. Some of us try to hide, drown out our sorrows in depressing moody music, or even lash out in anger. There is hope my friends, there is a beautiful HUGE light at the end of the tunnel! Don't despair however, 'tis not death but a rebirth. A rebirth in your view, your joy, letting your true self come out, and yes indulgence is soon to come!

First is first, now, I know that this is going to be like salt in a wound to some people out there but bare with me, with truth comes peace and happiness. We are talking about ATTITUDE. Yes, to all those complainers out there (not excluding myself) I am talking to you. Ask your self, what does complaining and getting yourself all worked up do? If you said nothing, you are wrong. Terribly wrong.

Is there a question mark popping up in that intelligent brain of yours, because i hope so. A bad attitude, wastes energy, time, and most importantly love. Why do most people get fired? Bad attitude. Why does anyone ever get into an altercation? Bad attitude. Why do so many marriages and families fail to exist as they should? BAD ATTITUDES! A Sour Puss, is more than just a thorn in your side its a worm hole of despair trying to engulf any entity in its way. It's the seed of just about any problem us humans can encounter. It causes stress EVERYWHERE!

Now you know where the problem starts, we will now proceed to tackling those nasty symptoms. (Please consult your doctor with ANY regimen you may want to add to healthify your lifestyle.)

Starting in order:

  • When you first wake up within 15-30 min of your alarm get up! I know from personal experience that staying in bed longer makes me start to dread actually getting up. Henceforth, causing me to press the snooze button farther than i can really get away with it.
  • Next, Wash your face with cold water, It will totally wake up any morning time zombie.
  • Brush those TEETH! Hygiene is important and that's common sense! If your teeth hurt try using Sensodyne. The taste is light and the cleaning is right! Next, get a glass of water in you!
  • Now we stretch! This is not a work out so take it easy and relax. If you don't take caution this exercise could land you in the doctors office with a pulled muscle, or worse! When you are done stretching jog in place for a few seconds to get your heart pumping!

If you have time you may insert a light weight 10-15 minute workout, or clean your house while doing lunges!
Make sure you have a couple minutes to write down a few goals for the day. For me, it helps cement the idea in my head, and motivates me to accomplish what I set out to do that day in a timely manner.
  • Every day should start out with a healthy balanced Breakfast. For those coffee drinkers, make sure you drink your coffee after you have eaten at least half of your meal. I have experienced horrible pains skipping breakfast and going straight for the coffee, but that's just me.
  • Make sure you look at yourself and pat your back, blow a kiss, or throw a wink at your hot self!
  • Keep bad thoughts to yourself so you don't spread pain. The less pain us humans out put, the less there is available in the world to receive.
  • Rub your shoulders and stretch throughout the day.
  • Don't wear uncomfortable clothes or shoes : } Even if they are SO TOTALLY CUTE and so ON SALE!
  • Thank people when ever you can.
  • Remember to SMILE!
  • Smell the roses.
  • Tell everyone you love that they are an amazing addition to your life in your own way
  • Take a hot shower or a nice Epsom salt bath

Last but not least, Look at everything from every angle you can see and think of!
Happy Living,
Katie
