Another great thing to do is hire a private instructor who comes to your house. We live in LA, and our child has special needs. She is timid in large, or for that matter small, crowds and being able to have the instruction in a familiar environment is helpful. Plus, the person we hired is good. Young, but very sympathetic and capable with our 4 yr old. his name is Tyler and his site is www.tylernaake.com
